For Hibiki

The foundation of civilization shattered, a people scattered, and a world scorched in the fires of war and shrouded by deadly fog. "Wait, and Hope" , words writted by Alexandre Dumas now a creed for survivors as they escaped the husk of planet Earth. Absolution for their sins was never a consideration, they know what they did and now - after eons hiding beyond the clouds, the sinners of the old world return to save those who remained......and then add to their sins.

Many decades would pass and this new world would thrive under the rule of their saviors, gods descended from the stars to lead them through the fearful night and build them up. Architects, apostles of the supreme - the Maker. By their hands humans were able to fight the malice of their world and bring it to heel, gaining knowledge, courage, and will to live. Humanity had it's saviors, but at what cost?

But that story is for another day.

A new day cast its light on the spires of the western world, the fog ever dark nipping at the heels of a thriving civilization who's homes reached for the sky but dare not touch the stars. Avalon, the tower country of a robust and colorful people, each living their lives in their own way. Some work to rise through the corporate ranks, some work to find purpose and grow, some work simply to kill time, some work to survive to see the next day, and some don't work at all and lounge in lavish homes. This is no diffirent for those in the city of Loweland, Caliburn tower, level twenty two, most living hand-to-mouth, off the kindness of others, or what scraps the government could give . The plight of the poor but for some it was enough, "as long as we're fed", "as long as there is a roof", "so long as the wind stays out" were words that were thrown about with eyes heavy with acceptace of their lot in life. However, there were a few who dare to dream.
