.. / -.. .. . - The Ourang Medan
In June of 1947, somewhere in the Indian Ocean, an ominous morse code was transmitted saying "We flowt. All officers, including the Captain, are dead. Lying in chart room and bridge. Possibly whole crew dead." And a few minutes later the last transmition was recieved.
"I die..."
The crew of the Silver Star, with the aid of various international listening stations, found the source of the transmission, the SS Ourang Medan. Unable to establish communication the Silver Star went to investigate and found it drifting further and further out to the ocean. Once boarded all members of its crew were found dead, on their back, faces frozen in fear with their arms raised as if to defend themselves. Further investigation raised more questions, rooms inside the ship were found to be cold despite the humid and sweltering heat outside, and the rest of the crew that perished inside were found in the same state as the ones on deck.
Finding nothing that tells them what on earth happened, the captain of the Silver Star ordered for a tether to be tied to the Ourang Medan for them to tow it back to port, however, once the line was secured a fire had mysteriously started in the cargo hold of the ship forcing the men still onboard to cut the line and evacuate before the Ourang Medan exploded.
Deacdes later, the mystery surrounding the Ourang Medan only grew with it being labeled by some as tall tale from the high seas, whilst others think it existed and was cursed by a supernatural entity. Others say it was the site of a government conspiracy not unlike that of the Philadelphia Experiment.
Whichever theory you believe, the Ourang Medan has been brought to your attention. A card and a hotel card key in a silver envelope, your name on the face and a black four-pointed star on the seal flap, providing you with the name "Baltimore" and coordinates to somewhere out in the Indian Ocean. Coincidence, or a bizarre game? The letter has no sender and has signs of aging, but the key is new - modern - and takes you to a room in the Bayview Beach Resort in the city of Penang, Malaysia.
